Third Annual On Track Karting Race

The cost: $30 per driver for 2 heats
Reserve your spot in the starting grid: rwcarlson@att.net
Confirm your intention to race by $30 payment to Kathy Davias (Treasurer) ASAP
Space is limited so register early.

Please plan to arrive by 11:30

The folks at On Track Karting advise to plan on a total time of about 2 hours. This will include getting everybody there, registration and signing of consent forms, going through the orientation getting fitted for helmets and neck braces, and running a couple of heats.

Heats are 8 minutes long which results in about 10 - 11 timed laps of the 19-turn track. Lap record is ~ 38 seconds.

Other details:

1. Karts are equipped with transponders linked to an automatic timing system. Each driver gets a printout of his/her lap times at the completion of the heat.

2. Full face helmets with visors and neck braces must be worn. They have them available free of charge. One may also use one’s personal helmet. Auto or motorcycle helmets are acceptable. Motorcycle helmets must be DOT approved; dirt bike helmets are not acceptable. The neck braces are stand-alone devices. They are not HANS devices which require screws into the helmets to attach. If you’ve got a good helmet you like, bring it along; there shouldn’t be any compatibility issues with the neck braces.

3. No open toed shoes allowed.

4. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age and possess at least a learner’s permit. Those under 18 must have a signed parental consent form, downloadable from On Track Karting’s web site
