Fall Tour 2012 - Saturday Nov. 3 2012

UPDATE - Fall Tour is STILL ON

Your tour guides are Rick and Laura Citrak

Rick states- "It's a scenic route,  although the smooth and abundantly curvy roads tempt one to ignore the scenery"

Tour begins at Guida's Restaurant in Middlefield, CT
Tour takes us from Middlefield, past Beseck Lake, Lyman Orchards and through the town of Durham, CT.  Then a long drive through the Killingworth area to Chester CT.  Then North to the East Haddam Bridge where we cross the Connecticut River, for the first time. Goodspeed Opera House is on your right. The bridge is one of Connecticut's historic movable bridges built in 1913.

Driving east we will drive through and stop perhaps for a photo op at the Devil's Hopyard State Park.  There are some interesting geological formations that has something to do with the name but more about that later.

We continue South to a very picturesque spot call Hamburg Cove which is a small inlet of the Connecticut River.  Then back northeast to Beaver Brook Farm when we will stop at the farm stores.

We cross the Connecticut again on the Baldwin Bridge , a quick on and off at the first exit  and on to the Town of Old Saybrook and then south across a very cool causeway that crosses South Cove . Plenty of views  of Long Island sound!   Then we hug the coast past Cornfield Point back north to a destination at Luigi's Restaurant.
